The Pepperell Garden Club designed, planted and maintains gardens throughout town. A chairperson oversees plantings and maintenance of each location. Support throughout the growing season is provided by Club members several town departments.
Town Rotary, since 1986. This garden features ornamental shrubs, trees, annuals, perennials and two granite benches.
Town Hall, since 1989. This garden features trees, shrubs, herbs, perennials and container plantings. In 1991, the Club donated a new “Town Hall” entrance sign.
Veterans of Foreign War Memorial, since 2011. The Club designed a garden around the VFW memorial stone and along the walkway, as well as several ornamental trees and 2 granite benches for visitors.
Pepperell Senior Center, since 2006. These gardens have grown extensively over the years. In addition to several beds of perennials and shrubs donated by members, many trees are planted in memory of loved ones, and an Eagle Scout project contributed shrubs. In 2009, we added the Senior Center potting shed and an abutting fenced-in area with 13 raised beds used by seniors for vegetable gardens in the summer and holding beds for our plant sale stock over the winter.
Main Street Beautification and Around Town Containers, since 2001. This project began with a large classical style planter Main Street and crabapple trees near the rotary. Over the years, we added trees and shrubs along Main St. and near the Rail Trail and container planters at many business establishments.
